Xbox UFC Tournament

Saturday night, October 17, 2009, found Heritage Studios video taping an Xbox UFC Tournament at Howie’s Game Shack in the Kaleidoscope Center in Mission Viejo, CA. Howie’s is a chain of computer gaming centers in southern California and one in Mesa, Arizona. Howie’s has invented a new form of interactive entertainment, operating the largest PC and Xbox game centers in America, and introducing social gaming as never experienced before.

The event was sponsored by Games i Play, a social networking website for all types of gaming. Games i Play is a community website built for all gamers. Often gamers are thought of as only video game players, but there are many forms of gaming in the world. Games i Play welcomes all types of gamers. They currently support a large number of games including: board games, card games, table top games, role playing games, video games, and many more. At Games i Play you will be able to create an account and share the games you play with your friends, and future friends.

This evening’s event found 25 or more gamers competing for cash prizes in addition to bragging rights. Heritage Studios captured winner’s comments from each fight of the Heavyweight division as well as pre and post interviews for each championship fight of all 5 weight divisions. We also captured live action of the players and spectators as well as screen shots of the actual video fights.

Good entertainment in a competitive atmosphere located in a spectacular gaming center. An extraordinary effort was made by Corbin76, in which he defeated every opponent in every weight category and dominated the event.

Heritage Studios used a Sony PD150 for the video and a Sennheiser wireless handheld mic for the interviews. The onboard camera mic was used for ambient sound. Lighting was provided by our LED camera light. The rig was mounted on a Bogen monopod to maintain flexibility in a small, crowded arena.
